Welcome

Welcome to the College of Sciences, known for excellence in teaching and research. Through the College and Department web sites you will see that the classrooms, laboratories, field sites, and clinics are exciting places to be! Although we continue to value traditional course delivery, faculty are increasingly integrating technology into teaching and communicating electronically with students in a number of different formats ranging from posting lecture outlines and notes to chat rooms. A limited number of web-based courses are available but this number is destined to increase in the near future.

Faculty and students in the College are actively engaged in research projects. Frequently students travel with faculty mentors to present at state, regional, national, and occasionally, international meetings. Last spring, approximately 20 students traveled to Springfield to display poster sessions of their research for legislators. Sciencefest, the annual COS research showcase, features research presentations by undergraduate and graduate students.

The faculty, administrators, and staff of COS are committed to advancing this fine record of excellence in teaching and research, as well as professional and community service. Please contact us for additional information.
