Description:
One-year full-time sabbatical replacement appointment in Graphic Design. Teach beginning through advanced graphic design courses. Normal teaching load is three graphic design classes per semester for a total of 18 contact hours per week. Other responsibilities include supervising of work study/student help when assigned to area . Salary commensurate with experience .
STARTING DATE: August 16, 2008.
The Graphic Design Area is one of five areas of the Art Department. The Art Department consists of 19 faculty members and 220+ majors. The department is NASAD accredited and offers a B.A. in Art with options in Graphic Design, Studio, Art Education, Art History, and M.A. in Art. The Art Department is located in the newly renovated and expanded Doudna Fine Arts Center.
APPLICATION: Complete application must include letter of application, current resume which includes evidence of ongoing professional activities, names and addresses/phone numbers of three current references the search committee can contact, photocopies or official transcripts of graduate work, 20 samples of design work (Macintosh-compatible presentation preferred), statement of teaching philosophy, and a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of application materials. Inclusion of images of student work and examples of graphic design course outlines are encouraged but not required.

Requirements:
A 60 semester hour Master of Fine Arts degree (M.F.A.) in Graphic Design/Electronic Media and record of professional achievement in Graphic Design/Electronic Media preferred; equivalent professional experience considered. Knowledge of Macintosh operating system and related graphic design software including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and InDesign. Teaching experience at the college or university level in the area of graphic design preferred.
