Assistant Director for Academic Services
Eastern Illinois University, a NCAA Division I (Football Division I-AA) member institution and member of the Ohio Valley Conference, is seeking an Assistant Director for Academic Services. This position will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance/Academic Services and the Director of Academic Services in maintaining and expanding academic services to student-athletes. This is a full-time, 12 month position with full benefits. Primary Responsibilities: provide academic consulting services to student-athletes; resolve problems relating to curriculum, course prerequisites, and elifibility; review student grade reports each semester to determine NCAA eligibility; meet with at-risk student-athletes and develop a plan of study to ensure sucess; monitor and assist in daily operations in the Academic Services Center; participate in in-service training related to academic advisement; assist in maintaining compliance with NCAA rules, regulations and reporting; assist in the coordination of CHAMPS Life Skills program; assist faculty, coaches and other personnel by providing records, evaluations, interpretations and requested date files; and perform other duties as assigned by the Asst. AD and/or Director of Academic Services.
Educational requirement: Master's degree in related field required with one year experience in Athletic Advising preferred. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; knowledge of organizational structure; and ability to communicate effectively.
