  2001-2004 Title XI Gender Equity Surveys

Eastern collects survey data and other types of information as part of a process required by the U.S. Office of Civil Rights to monitor whether the university is providing equal opportunities for its students. Longitudinal data and other information suggest that Eastern currently is fully and effectively accommodating the interests and abilities of its women students to participate in intercollegiate athletics.

2004
Total Females who Completed Survey:
  • 274 of 704 (39% of the Fall 2004 Transfer Female Students)
  • 1010 of 1476 (68% of the Fall 2004 Freshman Female Students)
2003
Total Females who Completed Survey:
  • 45 of 748 (6% of the Fall 2003 Transfer Female Students)
  • 650 of 1589 (41% of the Fall 2003 Freshman Female Students)
2002
Total Females who Completed Survey:
  • 67 of 714 (9% of the Fall 2002 Transfer Female Students)
  • 853 of 1499 (57% of the Fall 2002 Freshman Female Students)
2001
Total Females who Completed Survey:
  • 81 of 665 (12% of the Fall 2001 Transfer Female Students)
  • 262 of 1184 (22% of the Fall 2001 Freshman Female Students)

Data Source: Total Transfer Female Student and Total Freshman Female Student data from EIU Office of Planning and Institutional Studies. Total enrollment - full-time and part-time, on and off campus.
