Finding Child Care
If you are looking for child care in Illinois in the counties of Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Edgar, Moultrie or Shelby call our office to speak with a Child Care Specialist. Our Child Care Specialist will complete an intake form with you in order to find child care providers that may meet your needs. Tell the Child Care Specialist which type of child care is best for you. If you prefer, you may email our office at tlduzan@eiu.edu to request your referrals. A Child Care Specialist will contact you for specific information to help in your search for child care that meets your individual needs.
You will receive a list of child care providers in the mail along with written materials that will assist you in your search for a child care provider. If you would like, your list can also be phoned, emailed or faxed to you.
Once you receive your list of providers, make an appointment to visit each provider and take along the “Child Care Program Checklist” to help you identify a quality child care program. You will receive a checklist in your packet from CCR&R or you may access a checklist from Child Care Aware.
CCR&R would like to hear from you! After you have contacted our office for referrals, please complete the evaluation form and let us know how we can better serve you. Once we receive your completed form by mail or email, we will send your children a book!
Child Care Resource and Referral is mandated by the Illinois Department of Human Services to charge a fee for referral services based on family size and income. It is possible that you may be charged a fee of $10.00, $20.00 or $30.00 for a year of referral service. Currently, 85% of the families who utilize our services are not assessed a fee. Please see the chart below to determine your fee assessment.
