INTERNAL SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR INTERIM DIRECTOR, FACILITIES PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
The Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs is conducting a limited, internal search for the position of interim director of Facilities Planning and Management (FPM). The interim director will report to the vice president for business affairs and will be responsible for the overall operations, maintenance, construction, renewal and continuous stewardship of campus physical facilities. Specific areas of responsibility include management, oversight, fiscal authority and direction of maintenance functions in all buildings; grounds care; utilities and their infrastructure; engineering and architectural service delivery; campus design and construction activities; project management and coordination; renovations and alterations to campus assets; and janitorial services in administrative, classroom and athletics buildings.
Anyone wanting to apply for the interim director of Facilities Planning and Management position should submit a letter of interest and résumé to William Weber, vice president for business affairs, by Friday, May 11. After applications have been received, FPM staff members and other campus constituents will have the opportunity to provide written comment regarding the applicants. The interim director will be appointed after the consultation and feedback processes have been completed.
The expected start date for the interim director position is Monday, July 2, 2012. A nationwide search for the FPM director position is tentatively scheduled to begin in the fall of 2012, and the interim director will serve through June 30, 2013, or until the position has been permanently filled.
