HOW TO WRITE A PROPOSAL TO THE COUNCIL ON FACULTY RESEARCH
This workshop is presented by Research and Sponsored Programs from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Greenup Room, MLK Jr. Union.

Eastern's internal funding for research and creative activity is awarded on a competitive basis by the Council on Faculty Research. There are two rounds of funding -- one in the fall and one in the spring. This presentation will include suggestions for making a proposal competitive, as well as examples of recent funded proposals.

NEW STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT GRANTS -- OFFICE OF STUDY ABROAD
The purpose of the Study Abroad Program Development Grant is to provide travel funds for faculty and staff to develop new and innovative education abroad programs for students. The types of program may be vast and varied: exchange, one-way, faculty-led, teaching, internship, field study, etc. EIU faculty and staff interested in applying for this grant will need to submit a complete proposal package to the director of Study Abroad, 1178 Blair Hall, no later than Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, simultaneously with a faculty-led study abroad program proposal form (if for a faculty-led program). The Office of Study Abroad has allocated $10,000 for these awards each year. For more information, download an proposal package here.
