One of the many responsibilities of a financial manager is understanding and overseeing the retention, storing and destruction of a "record." Each department has a records retention schedule that is specific to the departmental needs. Please feel free to attend the session of your choice to keep up on the latest process, laws, etc., regarding records management.

To register for either session, go here.

Workshop 1: Records Basics -- If you are new to records management or would like to review the records management process, please attend this meeting. The workshop is a review of state-required records management, to include the State Records Act, records disposal process and inactive records storage process.
10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 19, Charleston/Mattoon Room, MLK Jr. Union.

Workshop 2: Records Q&A -- Session for experienced departmental records coordinators. Introduction of ARMA principles. This is an excellent opportunity for employees to ask questions about records management.
10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 21, Charleston/Mattoon Room. MLK Jr. Union.

Please contact Cathy Kimball, records manager, 581-3318,, with any questions regarding the content of the presentations.
