Job Summary:

The Center for Academic Technology support (CATS), is a campus resource center for a variety of services and technological solutions. CATS is committed to supporting and promoting all academic departments in the use of information and communication technologies for teaching and learning at Eastern Illinois University.

Training Services focuses on the development of creative, innovative, and effective uses of established and emerging technologies for students.

The position is responsible for assisting the Training Services staff as a support person to provide effective office operations for the integration and use of technology in student learning and development.

Job Functions:

  1. Manage all aspects of the training registration system
  2. Create and maintain online training evaluations
  3. Tabulate and prepare reports on training evaluations
  4. Assist with marketing
  5. Assist staff in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of technology trainings for students
  6. Assist with creation and collection of technology resource materials
  7. Learn new technologies
  8. Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Acceptance into a degree-awarding undergraduate program
  • Proficient in written and oral communication.
  • Adaptable / flexible to the changing needs of the campus and technology
  • The ability to work under a deadline
  • The ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously and flexible to transition back and forth between projects
  • Good organization skills
  • Professionalism
  • Some relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Mac computers preferred, not required
