1 - Must earn a grade of "C" or better in English Composition I and II, Speech Communication. 2 - Students who transfer in 9 semester hours of IAI approved Social and Behavioral Sciences are exempt from Eastern's Constitution Requirement. 3 - Apply to Eastern and have official transcripts sent from Illinois Eastern Community College and high school. NOTE: Completion of the second semester of a single foreign language is a graduation requirement. Students are exempt if two full years of a high school foreign language is complete with a "C" average or better. Courses can be taken at the community college or at Eastern. Summer can be utilized to reduce the academic load in the spring and fall. |

| Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District #529 (IECC) is located in a 3,000 square-mile area of southeastern Illinois near the Illinois-Indiana border. The multi-campus district includes Frontier Community College at Fairfield, Lincoln Trail College at Robinson, Olney Central College at Olney, and Wabash Valley College at Mt. Carmel. Each of the colleges is located in a small-town setting, with convenient access to larger cities in Illinois and Indiana. University Residency Requirement The Eastern Illinois University courses listed in the course matrix fulfill the University's residency requirement. University Graduation Requirements Among other requirements, students graduating from EIU must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher; an GPA of 2.0 or higher in the major; 40 semester hours of upper-division course (3000-4000 level); complete or have documented exemption from two courses in a single foreign language with a GPA of 2.0 or higher; two upper-division writing-intensive courses and electronic writing portfolio submission and assessment.
