John Henderson has assigned responsibilities in the Center for Academic Technology Support (CATS) related to the academic mission of Eastern Illinois University, in particular those services provided to faculty, staff, and students in the use of instructional technology. He also serves as the liaison with the Academic Technology Advisory Committee (ATAC) and has specific responsibilities and roles related to its budget, website, and general operations for upgrading facilities in the classrooms and computer labs. Pete Grant has served as the Digital Media and Multimedia Specialist for the Center for Academic Technology Support at Eastern Illinois University since 2003. He has a BA in English (2001) and an MS in Technology (2003), both from Eastern Illinois University . As the Digital Media and Multimedia Specialist, he is involved in developing multimedia presentations and digital resources for academic-related and instructional purposes for the EIU community. This includes:

• Video production for instructional purposes, academic events and presentations, and marketing for departments.
• Analog to digital conversions (I.E., VHS to DVD).
• Assisting faculty with use of digital content for instructional purposes (I.E., adding video content to an online environment like WebCT)
• Mass digital duplication (I.E., CD & DVD).
• Assisting faculty, staff and departments on campus with captioning media content.
• Consulting with campus constituents on a variety of digital and multimedia-related issues on campus.
• Conducting training for staff and faculty on campus in the use and principles of digital and multimedia-related technologies.

Julie Lockett is the Instructional Technology Specialist at Eastern Illinois University (EIU). Julie received a Bachelor of Science in Education from EIU, a Master of Science in Education specializing in Instructional Technology from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale (SIU-C), and completed thirty semester hours beyond the master’s degree in Educational Administration at EIU. She holds certification from the State of Illinois in both Elementary Education and General Administration. Julie has taught at the elementary and middle school levels in the areas of Math, English, Science, Gifted Education, and Computer Technology.

In addition to her current position, Julie has held various positions in instructional technology in higher education. She has served as the Director of Instructional and Information Technology Services for the College of Education at Indiana State University, the Coordinator for Technology Support on Grants for the College of Education and Professional Studies at EIU, and the Coordinator of Online Learning at Lake Land College. Julie has been teaching online courses at the college level since January 2000.

As the Instructional Technology Specialist for EIU, Julie primarily assists faculty and staff in the use of technology for instruction, research, and work-related duties in addition to support for the development of online courses. Since returning to EIU in 2007, Julie has developed and facilitated the Online Course Development Institute (OCDI) and established the Tech Bytes seminar series in addition to working with faculty and contributing to various other instructional technology projects.
