Admission to the B.S.B. in Business Administration Program

To gain admission to the B.S.B. in Business Administration program you must:

• Apply and be admitted to Eastern Illinois University;
• Interview with the School of Business Undergraduate Coordinator; and
• Be admitted to the School of Business

Application to Eastern Illinois University

Information about transferring to Eastern Illinois University can be found at: http://www.eiu.edu/~transfer/tranacadreq.php. You can obtain the EIU application form on-line at http://www.eiu.edu/~admissns/applyeiu.php or in Room X107 at Parkland College. When you apply, please indicate that your intended major is “Parkland BSB.”

Admission to Eastern Illinois University does not guarantee admission to the School of Business

Interview

You should schedule an interview with the School of Business Undergraduate Coordinator before or soon after applying to Eastern Illinois University.  The Undergraduate Coordinator will review your coursework and assess your progress in achieving the requirements for admission to the School of Business.  The Undergraduate Coordinator further will monitor your application to Eastern Illinois University and coordinate review by the School of Business Admissions Officer.

Admission to the School of Business

You must meet the following requirements to be admitted to the School of Business

• Be admitted to Eastern Illinois University and in good academic standing 
• Have a 2.50 cumulative GPA (based on coursework at all colleges previously attended)
• Have completed 60 semester hours of coursework 
• Have completed—with a grade of C or better in each—the following Parkland College courses (or their approved equivalents): 
  • ACC 102 Managerial Accounting
  • CIS 200 Business Computer Systems or CSC 105 Introduction to Computers and their Application to Business and Commerce
  • MAT 141 Finite Mathematics or MAT 145 Linear Algebra for Business
  • MAT 160 Statistics

Official copies of all transcripts must be on file with Eastern Illinois University prior to admission to the School of Business
