Accountancy Curriculum

Undergraduate Accountancy Program Learning Objectives:

The objectives of the undergraduate Accountancy curriculum are to impart the following:

Technical knowledge of accounting principles, standards, procedures and other applications.
Critical and analytical thinking skills.
Ethical understanding and reasoning abilities.
Proficiency in the use of accounting information technology.
Written and oral communication skills.
Awareness of cultural diversity.

After being accepted to the School of Business, you will complete:

ACC 3200: Financial Accounting Theory I
ACC 3250: Financial Accounting Theory II
ACC 3300: Management and Cost Accounting
ACC 3900: Accounting Information Systems
ACC 4400: Federal Income Taxation I
ACC 4500: Advanced Accounting Theory
ACC 4700: Auditing and Assurance Services
ACC 4800: Federal Income Taxation II

Plus one accounting elective selected from:

ACC 3750: Governmental & Not-for-Profit Accounting
ACC 4275: Internship in Accounting

And complete the Upper Division Business Core Curriculum:

BUS 3010: Management & Organizational Behavior
BUS 3470: Principles of Marketing
BUS 3500: Management Information Systems
BUS 3710: Business Financial Management
BUS 3950: Operations Management
ECN 3860: International Economics
BUS 4360: Strategy and Policy
