William Weber earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kansas in 1985. Following a post-doctorate appointment at Dartmouth College and a faculty appointment at Illinois State University, he joined Eastern's faculty in 1988 and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1995. His work has been published in a number of edited volumes and journals, including the Journal of Economic Education, Public Finance Review and the Journal of Economics. During his career at Eastern, Dr. Weber served as Director of the Office for Economic Education, Treasurer and Vice President of the EIU chapter of the University Professionals of Illinois Local 4100, and Associate Dean of the College of Sciences, before moving into his present position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of Summer Sessions. He has been serving as Eastern's Interim Budget Director since December 2007. He lives in Charleston with his partner Robert Funk, who is Professor Emeritus of English from Eastern and coauthor of many best-selling textbooks including Literature and the Writing Process and Understanding English Grammar.
Candace has been employed at Eastern Illinois University since July 1, 2005. Formerly, she held positions with the University of Illinois, State of Illinois Central Management Services, and the University of Missouri. Her educational background includes a BS in Math & Economics from Truman State University and a MA in Economics from the University of Missouri - Columbia. Along with holding a Professional in Human Resources certification, Candace is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist through the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Candace lives in Charleston with her two sons.
In November 1999, Heidi joined Eastern Illinois University as the accountant for Facilities Planning & Management. She joined the budget office in March 2006. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University; after which she went on to specialize in governmental auditing, taxation, and corporate accounting in the public sector. Heidi lives in Charleston with her daughter Ashley.
Mai joined the staff of Eastern Illinois University in 1998. She earned her B.A. degree from Hastings College in 1982. She has one son, Minh Jr, and two lovely grandchildren, Claire and Anthony.
Brent graduated from EIU in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree with an Accounting Concentration. He is now attending The Graduate School here at EIU where he is working on an MBA degree with an Accounting Concentration. He will graduate from the MBA program in August 2009. He has been working for EIU as a Graduate Assistant in the Budget Office since May 2008. In December 2007, Brent married the love of his life and best friend, Amy Harhausen. Brent and Amy live in University Apartments on campus here in Charleston.
