PubMed with EIU Electronic Journals

Choosing to search PubMed with EIU Electronic Journals will allow you to view the full text of many electronic journals that are owned by Booth Library. This service is provided through the LinkOut feature in Entrez, the interface PubMed is delivered through.

Viewing Full-text from EIU Electronic Journals

To view full-text from EIU electronic journals, you must access PubMed through the "PubMed with EIU Electronic Journals" link. If you are accessing PubMed with EIU Electronic Journals from outside the EIU campus, you will be prompted for your Library ID number.

Citations with links to EIU electronic journals will have a brown Booth Library icon underneath the journal title, as shown below.

Clicking of the Booth Library icon will direct you to the publisher's website for accessing the article. Some publishers link directly to the article, others will ask you to choose the article from a list or to choose the article format you prefer. Please report any problems you have accessing Booth Library's electronic journals to Stacey Knight-Davis at slknight@eiu.edu.

Viewing Full-text from Other Providers

Several publishers provide links to their full-text articles in PubMed. Some of these articles are available for free, but many require a password. If you see an icon other than the Booth Library icon, you may try to view the article, but do not expect to always have access to the full text.
