Dr.
McGaughey served as student teacher coordinator for undergraduate and
post-baccalaureate students in biology, chemistry, and physics. His current
research interests include evaluation of elementary and secondary science
curriculum and their impact on scientific literacy among students and on science
instruction among teachers. Dr. McGaughey conducted the teaching methods course
for life science and physical science in addition to content courses in the
Department of Biological Sciences. He is also Coordinator of the Master of
Science Education in Biological Sciences Program.
