Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honor Society
Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) was established on April 28, 1926 by a group of dedicated premedical students at the University of Alabama. By 1930 the organization consisted of five chapters and held its first national convention. In 1962 the Society became nationally recognized as a non-profit, educational organization. Today, AED has grown into an impressive body of of over 100,000 members in 168 chapters. The Illinois Theta Chapter at Eastern Illinois University became a national charter member of AED on May 5, 1977. Our chapter was the 35th member initiated during the 32nd national convention.
