Black Student Reunion, Charleston, IL

The 2008 Black Student Reunion committee has planned another unforgettable weekend at EIU.

 

The purpose of the Black Student Reunion is to raise money for scholarships to assist our current students. With your support, these scholarships can help our institution with recruitment and retention for students of color.

 

Tentative Schedule of Events

 

Friday, October 31

  • 5 - 8 pm: Registration: MLK University Union (Bridge Lounge)
  • 5 - 8 pm: Black Expo opening: For the first time in Charleston, we will be hosting our 2008 Black Expo in the University Ballroom. It will be our hope to have not only vendors from the Decatur/Champaign/Chicago area but we would encourage our alumni with businesses to be a part of this event. Guideline, cost and registration information about the Expo will be available soon. MLK Union (University Ballroom)
  • 8 - 10:30 pm: 2008 Laff Jam Supershow: Featuring comedians Deon Cole, featured on Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and BET’s “Comic View”; Lil Rel, seen on BET’s “Comic View"; Kelly “K-Dubb” Walker, seen on P-Diddy’s “Bad Boys of Comedy"; and Chastity Washington (seen on BET’s “Coming to the Stage”). MLK Union (Grand Ballroom)
  • 11 pm - 1:45 am: After Party: featuring DJ V-Dub, Mixshow DJ for 107.5 FMWGCI Radio-Chicago. McAfee Gymnasium
  • 11 pm - 1:45 am: Game Night: MLK Union (7th Street Underground - formally the Rathskeller)
