Nearly Naked Mile/5k
Join current EIU students, Charleston community members, and fellow alumni as they race to donate new or gently used winter clothing and shoes to Standing Stone Community Center and USAgain
How It Works:
Layer new or gently used winter clothing that will be stripped off along the way in drop boxes for hats, gloves, scarves, winter coats/jackets, shirts, pants, gently used running shoes.
Bathing suit area(s) must be covered! If Nearly Naked isn't your thing come in a fun costume and simply bring clothing items to donate!
Clothing will be donated to Standing Stone Community Center and shoes will go to Nike Reuse-A-Shoe.
Important Race and Registration Information:
· Runners will be able to complete a 5k or 1 mile version of the race.
· Entry fee: $10/person (includes long sleeve shirt) online or by calling 800-ALUM-EIU $15/person on race day for late registrants. (All proceeds will be donated to Standing Stone Community Center or the Charleston Food Pantry)
· Sign-Up Deadline: The deadline to register online for $10 and a t-shirt in your size is Tuesday, March 3, 2015. If you are registering on race day, you are not guaranteed shirt. Only cash or check is accepted on race day.
· The race will begin at the south end of the Rugby Field Parking Lot and will finish in the middle of the intramural soccer fields.
· Registration and check-in will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday morning in the gymnasium of the Wesley United Methodist Church. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
· A reception, compliments of the EIU Alumni Services, will be held for participants after the race, which will include drinks and snacks as well as an opportunity for students to network with alumni as well as Charleston Community Members.
· All participants will be required to sign a waiver.
