What is a listserv?
A listserv is an electronic program accessible via email. It is used for posting announcements that may affect students, such as new classes, class cancellations, program changes, and other information. Students can also post messages and questions there.
What does a listserv do?
By using a listserv, an individual can easily send a message at one time, to multiple recipients.
How do I use the listserv?
You can send a message to the listserv through an e-mail address which will be provided for you. When you send a message to a listserv, everyone on the list (including you) will receive a copy. Since many people will see your message, consider carefully the effects your message might have. For some purposes, private communication may be better. Anyone who wishes to respond will be able to do so, either publicly through the listserv or privately to your e-mail address (which is listed as the originator of the message).
