Integrative Learning Scholarship
What is the Integrative Learning Scholarship?
With a commitment to developing students as global citizens, Eastern challenges students to apply the principles learned in the classroom to every aspect of their lives. Integrative learning encourages them to connect the dots from academic to professional and personal.
The integrative learning scholarship is a competitive scholarship worth $3,000 for students entering Eastern in the Fall of 2012.
It is available to students who:
- Are new freshmen, or
- Are first-time community college transfer students.
- Meet the established guidelines.
This is a one-time award. All applicants must apply and be admitted to Eastern Illinois University to be eligible to receive the award.
What are the criteria for the Integrative Learning Scholarship?
High school seniors may apply with:
Minimum ACT 23 with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale
Additional requirements:
Evidence of engagement in service, research or activities that demonstrate an application of academic principles presented in the classroom. A descriptive essay in which the student reflects on what was learned from the service or research, and a letter from a faculty member, community organizer, etc., documenting the project is required.
Community college transfer students with a transferable associates degree (or IAI completion) and a minimum 3.5 GPA are also eligible to apply. Along with the application, they must provide the descriptive, reflective essay and a letter from a faculty member or other sponsor.
