The Department of Health Studies provides students with a range of accredited programs designed to meet the evolving health needs of the 21st century. Students who enter programs leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in Health Studies choose from the following options: Community Health, Health Administration, First Responder, and Teacher Education. Minors are offered in Community Health, Teacher Education, Health Communication, and Safety and Driver Education. The Department of Health Studies students and faculty are active in state, national, and campus education programs. Health Studies majors have won national recognition for developing and implementing innovative health promotion programs. Our honorary fraternity, Eta Sigma Gamma, has won numerous awards for creating dynamic health programs, and was named national Chapter of the Year in the past. Our faculty contribute to the well-being of the community and campus and have received university, state, and national recognition for our teaching, research, service, and student/mentor programs.
