Admitted Student Checklist - Transfer

As soon as possible

Access your EIU PantherMail. EIU will begin sending official notices to your EIU e-mail.  Check often.

Begin making on-campus or off-campus living arrangements.

Schedule a campus visit.

Research EIU scholarships online.  Most deadlines are January/February.  Continue your own scholarship search on sites such as FastWeb.com.

January

Apply for all federal and state aid including work-study and loans by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online as soon as possible after January 1. Be sure to include EIU (001674) as a school of choice.

Orientation, advisement and registration invitations will be e-mailed. Just a reminder: This is a mandatory program for all incoming students so complete your reservations as soon as possible.

If you haven't scheduled a visit, plan to attend the February Open House. Sign up today online.

March

Reminder: Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the March 1 preferred filing date to ensure full consideration.

Orientation, advisement and registration programs begin and continue through August. You will meet with your academic adviser and register for fall classes. (Reservations are required to attend orientation).

On-campus housing contracts and surveys mailed to those who applied for on-campus housing. This is where you will indicate your residence hall preference and roommate requests.

Your financial aid award letter will be available on PAWS at the end of this month if we received your FAFSA prior to the March 1 preferred filing date.

Submit your final high school showing date of graduation and final college transcript(s) to the Office of Admissions.

Complete part 1 of AlcoholEdu prior to first day of class.

Return your completed health immunization form to Health Services.

Move in. Make sure the University has your local address. All campus communication is mailed to your local address.

Participate in Prowl, fun-filled activities designed to welcome you to the campus community.
