Academic Achievement Award

What is the Academic Achievement Award?

The Academic Achievement Award is a competitive scholarship worth between $1500 and $2500 for students entering Eastern in the Fall of 2010.   

It is available to students who:

  • Are new freshmen, or
  • Are first-time community college transfer students.
  • Meet the established guidelines.

This is a one-time award. All applicants must apply and be admitted to Eastern Illinois University to be eligible to receive the award.

What are the criteria for the Academic Achievement Award?

High school seniors may apply with:

  1. A rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating class or 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and
  2. a composite ACT score of 27 or SAT (math and verbal) score of 1210 or higher.

Community college transfer students may apply if:

  1. They have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale with either an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Sciences (AS) or Associate in Science and Art (ASA) degree earned.
    1. The AA/AS/ASA degree must be from a public community college in the State of Illinois or from either of the two private community colleges in the State of Illinois (Springfield College in Springfield or Lincoln College in Lincoln) to be eligible.
