Collaborative activities with business/industry: The Department continues to have internship placements that include placement in private law firms; in AY 2002-03, there were three such placements. In addition, although not strictly under the category of relations with business and industry, the Department in December 2002 concluded a successful partnership with Illinois Office of the Comptroller. This partnership focused on the establishment in Fall 2001 of an on-campus field office for the Comptroller, with its focus on relations with local governments in the region. At the time of the field office’s closing due to state budget problems, three PLS students had been provided with internship opportunities.
