    • Undergraduate Student Survey Results: NA
    • Accreditation reports/results: The department completed a site team visit during April 2002. The team represented the SOPHE/AAHE professional organizations (Society of Public Health Education, American Association of Health Education). The final report was presented in November, 2003. Department received official notification of approval in March 2004.
  2. Active student learning opportunities
    • 2 faculty/student mentor awards from Illinois professional organization
    • HST 3200 class Health Fair , 23 EIU students and 75 elementary students
    • 44 students completed internships and 4 students completed student teaching
  3. Strategies to improve P-16 teaching and learning: The Department offers an accelerated summer offering of Safety and Driver Education courses for In Service teachers wishing to complete the core courses leading to endorsement. 10 individuals were served.
  4. Collaborative activities with business/industry:
    • The Department Advisory Council has been reactivated. After two meetings, retention and marketing strategies have been developed and are being implemented.
    • Evaluation of BETR (Body Electric Tobacco Refusal) program involving 2 faculty and 4 student interns.
  5. Pass rates on any professional/ occupational licensure exams: 03-04 Illinois Certification Testing Health Results-- Exam was taken 11 times, 10 passed, 1 failed

    • AWARDS - Jennifer Woods Memorial Scholarship ($650); Carl Sexton Memorial Scholarship ($360); Health Studies Student Achievement (2 @ $200 ea.);

    • JOBS - Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Elk Grove Village Health Dept., Proviso East HS
