Chair Johnson called the meeting to order at 3:06 p.m.

Guests: Bailey Young, History

I. Minutes
The minutes of 11-8-06, 12-1-06 and 1-17-07 were approved as published.

II. Proposals
07.01 New Course proposal HIS 5430 Modern Germany
Jon Coit presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee. Jerry Daniels moved and Jean Wolski seconded the motion to approve the proposal. Motion passed unanimously (8-0)

07.02 New Course proposal HIS 4780 Origins of Europe: Archaeology and History
Bailey Young presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee. Jerry Daniels moved and Jean Wolski seconded the motion to approve the proposal. Motion passed unanimously (8-0)

III. Executive Action
The following item was approved:

Designate JOU 4102 as writing intensive.

IV. Items placed on the agenda
The following items were placed on the agenda for the February 7, 2007, meeting:

07.03 New Course proposal HIS 5112 Museum Digital Applications

07.04 New Course proposal HIS 5113 Museum Digital Applications

V. Nomination of student representative from Humanities
Due to a class conflict, Ashley Rueff will no longer be able to serve as student representative for the Humanities. Committee members were asked to submit names of eligible students as soon as possible to Chair Johnson.
