Chair Sterling called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.

I.  Minutes

    On the motion of Hoerschelmann and second of Swords, the minutes of 11/10/10 were approved by acclamation.

II.  Agenda Items acted upon

•    09.22 New course proposal AFR 3150 Women & Development in Africa

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Simpson) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (9-0)

•    09.24 New course proposal AFR 3500 AFR Intellectual Tradition

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Coromina) to approve.  Item approved (7-2)

•    09.25 New course proposal AFR 3600 HIV/AIDS and Development in Africa

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  

Samantha Sauer left the meeting at this point.

Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Mitchell) to approve.  Item approved (8-1)

•    09.26 New course proposal AFR 3700 Race and Neighborhood Development

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Kim) to approve.  Item approved (9-0)

The meeting adjourned by acclamation at 4:17 p.m.
