Chair Sterling called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

  I.   Minutes

         On the motion of Swords and second of Hoerschelmann, the minutes of 11/03/10 were approved by acclamation.

II.  Agenda Items acted upon

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the rationale for the program revision and addressed questions from the committee.  The following items were acted upon:

•  09.17 Revised course proposal AFR 2000G AFR Social Movements

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Wolski) and seconded (Swords) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (9-0

•  09.18 New course proposal AFR 2200G Pan Africanism

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Wolski) and seconded (Swords) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (9-0)

Samantha Sauer left the meeting during the proposal discussion.

•  09.19 New course proposal AFR 2400 Black Women in the Diaspora

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  On the motion of Kammerling and the second of Hoerschelmann, item was tabled for revisions by acclamation.

Anna Cromwell left the meeting at this point.

•  09.20 New course proposal AFR 2500 Intro to Research Methods

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  On the motion of Hoerschelmann and the second of Wolski, item was tabled for revisions by acclamation.

Caroline Simpson left the meeting at this point.

•  09.21 New course proposal AFR 2600 African American Men

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Kim) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (7-0)

The meeting adjourned by acclamation at 4:28 p.m.
