College of Arts & Humanities Curriculum Committee Minutes

Chair Sterling called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.
I. Student members
Introduction of new student members: Samantha Sauer, History major, will represent Humanities and Jessica Parmenter, Art major, will represent Fine Arts.
II. Minutes
The minutes of 10/20/10 were approved by acclamation.
III. Agenda Items
10.11 New course proposal CMN (3630) 3640 Advanced Interpersonal Communication
It was discovered that course number 3630 has been used in recent history (2001). Course number is tentatively changed to 3640. Mark Borzi and Angela Jacobs presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee. Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Wolski) to approve. Item approved with revisions (8-0)
10.09 Revision to Communication Theory & Practice Option
Proposal to change option from Communication Theory & Practice to Interpersonal Communication was presented by Mark Borzi and Angela Jacobs. After brief discussion motion made (Sterling) and seconded (Kammerling) to approve. Item approved unanimously (8-0)
10.10 Revision to Public Relations Minor
Mark Borzi and Terri Johnson presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee. Motion made (Wolski) and seconded (Swords) to approve. Item approved unanimously (8-0)
IV. Executive Action requests
Two requests from Music were discussed. 1. Edit catalog description for MUS 3102 and 2. Edit course title and catalog description for MUS 0221. Requests will be forwarded to CAA.
V. Bylaws
Revision suggestions will be sent to Chair Sterling.
The meeting was adjourned by acclamation at 3:43 p.m.
