College of Arts & Humanities Curriculum Committee Minutes
Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Members present:  Gene Harrison, ART,Tim Coombs, CMN, Stephen Swords, ENG, Shelley French, FLG, Jon Coit, HIS, Eunseong Kim, JOU, Gary Jensen, MUS, Brian Beakley, PHI, Jean Wolski, THA, Associate Dean Jeffrey Lynch, (ex-officio)

Chair Wolski called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

Minutes
The minutes of 10/02/07 and 10/11/07 were approved as written.

Executive Actions approved
1.  Designate CMN 2010, 2020, 2030, 2040 as pre-requisites for all 4000 level CMN courses effective fall 2008.
2.  Eliminate CMN 4749 effective fall 2008
3.  Change in pre-requisites and catalog descriptions for select Philosophy courses.

Proposals
07.30 Proposed changes to Theatre Arts program
Jean Wolski presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion approved unanimously (9-0).

07.31 Proposed Philosophy Program changes
Jonelle DePetro presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion approved unanimously (9-0).

Nomination of student representatives
Student representatives, one from fine arts and one from humanities, are needed.  Stephen Swords submitted a candidate from English and will invite her to the next meeting.  A student to represent the Fine Arts is still needed.  Committee members were asked to submit names of students to Chair Wolski via e-mail.
