Chair Coleman Sterling called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m.

I.  Minutes

On the motion of Hoerschelmann and second of Wolski, the minutes of 03/30/11 were approved with one abstention.

II.  Items acted upon

•  10.40 New course proposal FLE 3025 Women in the Hispanic World

Irene Coromina presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Kammerling) and seconded (Hoerschelmann) to approve.  Item approved with minor revisions (8-0)

•  10.41 Revised course proposal FLS 3000 Problems in Spanish Grammar

Stephen Swords entered the meeting at this point.

Irene Coromina presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Simpson) and seconded (Kim) to approve.  Item approved with minor revisions (9-0)

•  10.42 New course proposal FLS 3010 Writing Through Literature
Irene Coromina presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Hoerschelmann) and seconded (Wolski) to approve.  Item approved with minor revisions’s (9-0)

III.  Election of Vice-chair

 

Olaf Hoerschelmann was elected Vice-chair by acclamation.

 

IV.  Executive Actions

Dr. Poulter is working with departments to compile a list of CAH courses, not offered in at least three years, to be deleted by executive action.  These deletions will have no impact on programs.

The meeting adjourned at 3:35 p.m. by acclamation.
