Women in Science and Mathematics

WiSM exists to serve as a resource for young women pursuing careers in the Sciences and Mathematics and EIU.

Welcome to WiSM!

Our mission is to recruit and retain women students in sciences and mathematics, and to mentor and provide stewardship to women sciences and mathematics majors for advanced degrees and career tracks.

At WiSM events throughout the semester, students hear from women in various stages of their careers, and are able to ask advice, as well as get ideas for their own career goals. WiSM students also have the opportunity to learn about the research opportunities available at Eastern, and meet with other sciences and mathematics students and faculty.
