O' Brien Field

The seats may be vacant in this photograph but, come the start of the school year, thousands of sporting enthusiasts -- a combination of students, alumni, faculty, and staff -- don their blue and grey to come cheer the EIU Panthers on to victory. A $2 million renovation/construction project in 1999 allowed for the expansion of O'Brien Stadium, including new coaches' offices for football, men's/women's track, men's/women's soccer, baseball, golf, and select administrators. An expanded strength and conditioning complex, sports medicine area, locker room, video and meeting rooms were also added.
