The Office of Student Community Services (SCS) is here to help connect your passions and interests with the community. Listed on these pages are on-going volunteer activities in the Coles County area.
Also, there may be many special events that come up throughout the year. To stay most up-to-date, please e-mail volunteer@eiu.edu and request to be placed on the service mailing list.

Volunteer Waiver
As a volunteer, I agree to assume the risks associated with the volunteer activity listed. I understand that I will not be covered under the university's workers' compensation program and I will receive no monetary benefit for my services. I release the university (and its governing board, employees and agents) from any and all liability, and I agree to indemnify and hold the University harmless for any claims that may arise from injury or harm to me, or damage to my property in connection with this activity. I further assure the university that I have adequate health insurance necessary to provide for and pay any medical costs that may result from my participation in this activity. I understand that this Release means I am giving up, among other things, rights to sue the University, its governing board, employees, and/or agents for injuries, damages, or losses I may incur.
