Frequently Asked Questions
What is my username and password for my WebCT
account?
Your username is your E-Mail Account ID. Your password is initially
published to PAWS. It will not be updated on PAWS after you change
your password. It will not be kept in synch with your E-Mail password
at this time. If you forget your password, your instructor can reset
it for you or you can stop by our office in the Student Services Building
or our student lab in the Triad Building.
Back
I entered my Student ID as my password but I still
can't get into WebCT.
You should contact your instructor or stop by our office in the Student
Services Building or our student lab in the Triad Building. They
can reset your password for you.

If I get kicked off the Internet during a timed test
will it let me sign back on and resume the test?
Yes, as long as you didn't click on Finish, you can get back into your
quiz and can continue taking the test. Please note, though, that the timer
will continue running even while you are not on the Internet.

I think that WebCT changed my saved Quiz answer.
WebCT will not change your saved Quiz answer.
You do have to make sure that you click on Save Answer after you select,
enter or change an answer, though. Once you've selected, entered or changed
an answer, promptly click on Save Answer.

I think I'm missing messages in the Discussion area
of my WebCT course.
You can view your messages in different formats. You're probably looking
at your messages in the Threaded format.
If you click on Threaded, you will see your messages listed by
message and responses. In this arrangement, you should click on the blue
triangle to see all of the responses.
If you click on Unthreaded, you will see your messages listed
chronologically.
Back
How can I tell if my message properly posted to a
discussion topic?
The message listing doesn't automatically update when you post a message.
Click on Update Listing to see a current list of messages, including your
own.

How often do I have to check my browser version or
browser settings?
At the beginning of every semester you should check to make sure that
