Karen A Eisenhour

Ms. Eisenhour has taught at EIU since 1994. She is the costume designer and shop supervisor for the Department of Theatre Arts and designs and constructs for all of the productions each season. In addition to designing, Karen teaches a variety of classes including: An Introduction to Costume Construction, Basic Costume Design, Make-up Design and Application, and Introduction to the Theatre. She has also taught Nonwestern Fine Arts, Theatre and Costume History and a variety of production topics courses, such as Puppet Design & Construction and Flat Patterning/Draping. In addition, she has presented at workshops on costuming for children's theatre and fantasy-based costumes. Her designs and construction of puppets have been used by Hospitals to help doctors relate procedures to children. Ms. Eisenhour is a member various theatre associations and has received a Certificate of Merit for her design work from ACTF.
