The teaching/research laboratories in the School of Technology are designed to support a curriculum that reflects contemporary industry and education. Ten major instructional laboratories form the core of the facilities used to deliver a quality program. State-of-the-art instructional equipment in computer-aided design, manufacturing, electronics, robotics, communication, and other technical areas is used to teach new and emerging technologies. In addition to the teaching facilities, membership in various professional organizations is encouraged. ATMAE, SME, and ASTD are a few of the professional organizations students will have an opportunity to join.

Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering

The Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering is recognized as the premier professional association. The organization promotes industrial technology in business, industry, education, and government.


EIU Construction Club -  Dr. Wafeek Wahby and Dr. John Cabage, Co-Advisors

As part of Eastern Illinois University, School of Technology,
the Construction Club's vision is to be a community of aspiring leaders in the construction industry locally and globally centered on creating an environment that fosters technical excellence and promotes better communication with people and management of materials and resources.


Society of Manufacturing Engineers - Dr. Isaac Slaven, Advisor

Society of Manufacturing Engineers is a internationally recognized organization of manufacturing practitioners, companies and other organizations.


Graphics Technology Club - Dr. Gabriel Grant, Advisor

The Graphics Technology Club is an association of students in partnership with industry, dedicated to sharing theories, principles, techniques, and processes relating to graphics technology.



American Society for Training & Development         

American Society for Training & Development is the world's largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. The local East/Central Illinois chapter of ASTD is where local events for students are listed.


Association for Career and Technical Education -
