Long before "green" became the buzzword it is today, Eastern Illinois University and its Facilities Planning and Management department were hard at work making this institution as environmentally friendly as possible. That focus on sustainability hasn't waned in recent days, as evidenced by much of the information you'll find on this section of the website.

From the construction of our state-of-the-art Renewable Energy Center to various water- and energy-conserving measures completed as part of three multi-million dollar performance contracts developed over the past 15 years, EIU is flush with examples of its commitment to the environment. Eastern is also proud to have earned Tree Campus USA status for 2010!
