Speech-Language Treatment
- Typically, two 45-50 minute treatment sessions are scheduled per week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday).
- Therapy is scheduled each semester according to the University calendar.
- Clients usually receive 28 therapy sessions in a 14-week period in the fall or spring semester and 14; sessions in a 7-week period in the summer.
- The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is located on the 2nd floor of the Human Services Building on EIU's campus. The physical address is 2086 7th Street, Charleston, IL 61920. The Mailing address is 600 Lincoln Avenue.
Speech-language therapy services are provided in at EIU’s Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic by undergraduate or graduate-level clinicians supervised by a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist or audiologist. Typically, two 45-minute treatment sessions are scheduled per week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday). Therapy is scheduled each semester according to the University calendar. Clients usually receive 28 therapy sessions in a 14-week period in the fall or spring semester and 12; sessions in a 6-week period in the summer.
Referral Process
A referral from a doctor is not required. If interested in services, please contact Trina Becker, Clinic Director at tmbecker@eiu.edu
Fees
- The fee for speech-language and/or hearing treatment during the fall or spring semesters is $300.00.
- The fee for speech-language and/or hearing treatment during the summer semester is $200.00.
- Families may qualify for a discounted fee with a state issued medical card or Medicare. Families may also apply for a reduced rate through an income-based sliding scale.
- The Clinic is private pay only. However, documentation can be provided per request to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
