I am interested in two research topics, the mental health of children and cross cultural factors in education and parenting. In terms of children’s mental health, my interest focuses particularly on the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in Children and adolescents, and the relationship between depression and learning and social development (mental health has been linked to educational/social outcomes). The second part of my research interest has to do with the education of English Language Learners and parenting across cultures, i.e., what are the challenges and opportunities of parenting when the parents' culture is different from the dominant culture they live in?
