Rachel Stapp Teaching Scholarship

Description

Established in 2010, the Rachel Stapp Teaching Scholarship holds the following eligibility criteria: the recipient must be a full-time student of sophomore, junior or senior status, majoring in elementary or secondary education, in good academic standing and accepted to Eastern Illinois University. Financial need is a consideration. Preference shall be given to a graduate of Brownstown (Illinois ) High School. If there are no applicants from Brownstown (Illinois) High School, the secondary preference is a teacher candidate from any high school in Fayette County, Illinois. If there is not a viable candidate from either of these preferences, then the best overall applicant will be selected. The recipient may be eligible to apply for, and receive, the award again provided he/she continues to meet the state criteria. The award shall be announced in the fall and paid in the spring semester to Eastern Illinois University to first be applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient attending Eastern Illinois University.
