Established in 2012, The Department of Recreation Administration Student of the Year Award was created to recognize Recreation Administration student(s) that has demonstrated excellence in the Department of Recreation Administration and has potential for leadership in the field. Eligible recipient(s) must be a full-time student majoring in Recreation Administration, accepted to Eastern Illinois University. Recipient(s) must maintain a major GPA of at least 2.75 and have completed a minimum of 20 credit hours in the major. Financial need is a consideration. Special consideration will be given to service to the department, potential for leadership in the field, and/or academic achievement. The recipient(s) may be eligible to receive the award again provided he/she continues to meet criteria. The award(s) shall be announced in the spring and paid in the spring directly to the awardee(s). This scholarship is limited to availability of funds.
