Established in 2012, the Pete Taylor Trombone Scholarship was created in recognition of the importance of music in the lives of individuals and communities, and in honor of Mr. Taylor's lifelong dedication to supporting instrumental music education in schools. Selected recipient(s) must be an incoming full-time freshman or transfer student studying the trombone and playing in a departmentally-recognized Major Ensemble, accepted to Eastern Illinois University. Recipient(s) must maintain a GPA of at least 2.75. Financial need is not a consideration. The scholarship is for no more than one academic year (i.e. fall and/or spring semester). The award(s) shall be announced in the spring and paid in the fall semester to Eastern Illinois University to be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient(s) attending Eastern Illinois University. In order to be considered, eligible students must complete the on-line application and audition by March 1.
