The recipient(s) shall be either a full-time student or a part-time student accepted to Eastern Illinois University. The recipient(s) shall be a non-traditional student who is enrolled at the University to accomplish the RN to BSN completion. The recipient(s) shall demonstrate a commitment to a career in hands-on nursing as their chosen profession. The scholarship shall be given to a student as an incentive to achieve success and preference shall be given to a student who demonstrates the greatest potential for lifetime success. The recipient(s) shall have a minimum 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) after completion of one semester in the RN to BSN program. The scholarship shall be given to a student whose hometown is in the State of Illinois and within a 100 mile radius of Charleston, Illinois. Financial need shall be a consideration. The recipient(s) may receive the scholarship only once. The award(s) shall be announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall to Eastern Illinois University to be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient(s) attending Eastern Illinois University.
