The recipient(s) must have been accepted to & plan to attend EIU as a full-time student with a declared major in (College of Sciences) Biological Sciences, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Geology, and Math & Computer Science, and any of the fore-mentioned majors with teacher certification. The award recipient bears responsibility for completing a scholarship application developed by the selection committee. Eligible candidates will be graduating from CHS in either the Fall or Spring of the respective academic year and must have completed a minimum of 16 credit hours of recognized science/math course work upon graduation at CHS. Recognized CHS courses include all those listed under Math or Science in the Course Descriptions for CHS. Additionally, Computer Concepts and Applications I & II will be recognized. Course work completed from these eligible classes will then be used to calculate the candidate's Math/Science GPA. The eligible candidates with the highest point total based on the following equation: (Math & Science GPA x 2) + (Cumulative GPA) at the time of application will be awarded.
