International ARMA promotes “Best Practices” by utilizing The Principles®Review The Principles® for implementation in your department’s record keeping practices.  If you would like more information on The Principles, contact the EIU Records Manager and ask for a full copy of the information.

Best Practice for disposal of records:  consistent disposal of records is critcal. 

Best Practice:  In order to meet legal compliance, all records that have met their life value should be disposed every year.

Best Practice:  Retain the approved disposal certificates with your departmental records retention schedule.
