Collaborating Research Efforts

A couple days ago, I visited the Charleston waste water facility to witness the collaboration taking place between the city and EIU's students and faculty on a research project involving algae and their ability to purify effluent.

It turns out that after the purification, the remainder of the algae can be used to produce ethanol. Research collaborations like these are among the many ways EIU is working for the environment and working with the community for better futures.
