Dr. McNitt (Ph.D. Michigan State) teaches courses in American government, parties and elections, political behavior and research methods. Research interests include urban politics and the effects of party organization on nominations. His research has been published in Legislative Studies Quarterly, Social Science Journal, American Politics Quarterly, Journal of Politicsand Western Political Quarterly. He is currently conducting research on the political careers of big city mayors.
