How Does a Person Register a New Course or a Practice Course in WebCT CE 8.0?

Upgrading to a new system means there will be new protocols for carrying out certain tasks. In most circumstances, instructors will have access to begin working on their WebCT course as soon as the department registers the course in Banner. Once listed in the Banner system, the course should automatically appear in the course listing area of WebCT CE v8.0. New sections will automatically become available each semester, plus past semesters will remain available to instructors for two years. If an instructor needs a non-standard (non-catalog) course, she/he will still be able to fill out a request form at http://www.eiu.edu/online. The process for dealing with those courses will be very similar to the current process used for WebCT CE v4.1. The good news is that WebCT CE v8.0 will ultimately make starting a new course much easier than it has been in the past.
